My Weight Loss Journey

From Bariatric Surgery to Breakthrough:
My 270 Pound Transformation

In 2019, I weighed more than this. Surprisingly, I was not just struggling physically. I was battling emotional eating, stress, shame, and a lifetime of using food as a way to cope. Even though I was a successful athlete in high school, I carried pain that no one saw. I was a father, a professional, and a leader, but I was also exhausted, overwhelmed, and disconnected from my own body.

In 2022, I made a decision that changed my life. I started the process for bariatric surgery, but what happened afterward is what transformed me the most.

This is my journey of structure, discipline, and consistency. This is my story of going from 500 pounds to reclaiming my life and becoming a coach for others.

Bariatric Surgery Was a Tool, Not the Cure

In July 2022, I began the approval process for gastric sleeve surgery.
I had the surgery in July 2023.

It was not a magic answer. It was a medical tool. The real work came through changing my thoughts,
daily structure, commitments, and habits.

Weight loss is not just physical. It is emotional and spiritual. Once your mind shifts, your body follows.

From Patient to Coach: How Thought Life Changes Everything

I learned that obesity does not start in the body. It starts in the thoughts we believe, the feelings we avoid, and the habits we repeat.

Today, I am a weight management coach and a thought life strategist. I help people:

  • Recover after bariatric or gastric sleeve surgery

  • Break free from emotional overeating

  • Create structure and routine for long term health

  • Deal with food in a healthy, mindful way

  • Build consistency and confidence through mindset renewal

You can lose weight with surgery. You keep it off with structure, thought life transformation, accountability, and emotional healing.

Final Reflection

I did not lose this weight just to look different. I lost it to live. To breathe. To walk in purpose. To be there for my children. To reclaim the life that I once felt slipping away from me.

Now I am honored to guide others.

Do not tell yourself it is too late.

Do not accept that you have to stay stuck.

You are just one brave decision away from your own breakthrough.

Your story is still being written. And it can still be powerful.
